I delete the comment spam on this blog, however to my knowledge it only works with WordPress. I advise people to not leave any comment spam and there would be no worries! Thanks. 05/08/2012 5:37am
Nice bit of info. I have to look deeper at this. I have been thinking about storing the urls in Database and when there's a match, not store the comment. I'm not using Wordpress. I get too many spam posts on my site. The text is usually paked with keywords or something like, "Nice Post," appears on multiple pages. I enabled the recaptcha to bring down the comment bots. 07/15/2012 8:26pm
Thanks for the reply and the visit/comment! The reCAPTCHA is definitely working a lot of magic! Completely eliminated the spam! 07/17/2012 4:26am
Hi Shawn, sorry i'm not very good with all this backlinks stuff.. Please enlighten what good is it to change the url in the comment to your own (blog's url?)? This doesn't create any site linking in then, does it? 07/17/2012 8:41am
Hi, Julian. There are 2 good reasons to do this with your comment Spam in WordPress. Your comment will be posted after it is approved. Leave a Reply |
